Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF)
Goes Island Hopping to Hope Town, Abaco in The Bahamas.
December 2 - 6, 2018
Immediately following it's fifteenth annual festival scheduled for November 28 to December 6, 2018 the Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF) will travel to Hope Town, in the Abaco Islands for a continuation of this year's celebration with the Screenwriters Residency Program and the Best of the Fest Hope Town, Abaco. During its visit to Hope Town a full program of films and festivities will be offered for the enjoyment of visiting Filmmakers, guests and local residents. Hope Town, Abaco is the third of the Family Islands to be included as a part of the Bahamas International Film Festival annual event.
The schedule of events to be held December 2 – 6, in Hope Town includes a Welcome Reception and a Special Screening of a stars studded movie at Hope Town Harbour Lodge, daily screenwriters workshop and evening film screenings at Hope Town Inn and Marina and Sea Spray Resort, culminating with the Closing Night Film and Farewell Party. Visiting Filmmakers will be on hand for panel discussions and Master Classes.
BIFF provides international exposure to The Bahamas not only through film showcases but has hosted a broad number of celebrities who participate and engage with festivalgoers. Its list of renown celebrities include Johnny Depp, Grace Jones, Debra Messing, Nicholas Cage, Daryl Hannah, Laurence Fishburne, Sir Sean Connery, Danny Glover, Alan Arkin, Michael K. Williams, Heather Graham, Sydney T. Poitier, Rae Dawn Chong, Roger Corman and more.

BIFF invites all Filmmakers and movie buffs, visitors and residents to join in the fun-filled five days of the scheduled events coming to Hope Town, Abaco December 2 - 6, 2018.
About the Screenwriters Residency Program
Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF) aims to connect emerging writers with industry professionals in an intimate setting in Hope Town, a picturesque Bahamian town in the Abaco Islands allowing writers to receive first hand knowledge as well as establish lasting relationships with field experts.
Four (4) pre selected fortunate applicants will be extended the incredible opportunity of attending a complimentary intense mentorship in The Bahamas this December 2-6, 2018.
In addition a Cash Prize will be awarded to both the 1st Place Feature and TV Script by Jib Polhemus of source |management +production
Entrance:
$110.00 Deadline (September 30)
Two (2) writers will be selected for features and 2 for TV Scripts
Up to 10 participants will be selected for Tuition (5 TV and 5 Feature)
Tuition $1500 (flight not included)

After we announce our FOUR (4) winners in September, BIFF will accept applications for Ten additional screenwriters to join us for the full price of tuition: $1,500. If you are selected, a non-refundable deposit of $500 will be required to reserve your spot.
