A cantankerous widower who lives a lonely life in the desert of Mexico gets a call from his estranged daughter, an undocumented immigrant in the US. She desperately needs his help, she doesn’t want to lose her children to the NY foster system. She will send her three American children ages 7, 4, and 3 to him, while she fights for her American dream and a road to citizenship. This heartwarming tale reminds us of the unconditional bond of family, and how the innocence of children can touch the most hardened of hearts.
